Student Advocacy
Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need… Your Student Union is here to do this for you! There are many places within the University where students can turn for advice and support but when looking for an advocate; the Student Union is the place to come. Student Union Officers are here to support all students of the University of Wales Newport and are able to take issues to the University on behalf of students. The Student Union can run campaigns and lobby the University as well as helping with individual student cases.

Complaints using the Universities FAIR procedure
Unfair practice hearings (e.g. plagiarism)
These are just examples of the most common issues we get involved with but of course we will try to help with any problems you may face.
