Newport Students’ Union

Welfare and Support

welfare and Support

During your time at University, be it your first night away from home, or your last deadline in your final year, you will find times when you need some extra support and a friendly ear. It helps to have this from one of your fellow peers.

The Education & Welfare officer is a designated member of the union to support you at times when you need some advice or information. This includes support and advice on academic appeals, complaints and unfair practice (plagiarism). This officer works closely with Student Services, the local police and the academic departments of the University to ensure that you as a student are feeling satisfied and can get on with enjoying your experience here at Newport.
