And personally I'm quite fond of misspelling 'personally' as well :)

Stop pontificating about pansies? I wrote 3 sentences, compared to your 521 words of non spell-checked garbage. The photo has been pulled as the Equality and Diversity department of the University - along with the majority of us - find a fascist 'free ad' offensive. Its offensive in the same way that getting dog shit posted through your letter box is offensive. Pesonally, I'd prefer pansies. At least they look nice....

I find this article and the subsequent comments made by Des Mannay and Daniel Lewis to be immature, misguided, one-dimensional, sensationalist, tittle-tattle. It would seem Felix Page has been swept along in the notion that the BNP is anything other than a bizarre mix of deranged, social outcasts, bottom feeding off the perceived fears of pseudo intellectuals from Student Union blogs and "run for hills" style panic journalism.
Let me try and calm the burning fires of rage from within the great Student Union halls of Newport University. From my perspective, it would seem the only people offended by the photograph are the four-scardy cats Felix, Des, Daniel Lewis and Jonny. The picture does no more to promote the BNP cause than hearing the deranged comments Nick Griffin on Question Time to an audience of millions. In both instances the message is lost in the muddle and intellectual ineptitude of the people within the TV and photographic frame. But before I go on, lets look at the picture. Very simply, it’s a portrait of a smiling middle aged man, in an ill-fitting, bad cream suit, gurning like a Cheshire cat in the middle of a field, with a map of London pinned on a Halfords 'insta Marquee' behind him. Is this really something to worry about? Felix, are you, or your readers really offended by this?
In a very un-scientific poll of friends and colleagues that have seen this image, the overwhelming feeling they had, was one of pity. We pity him, we pity his family and we pity the core principals of what his political party stands for. If you think that the public reaction to this photograph will be "Darn it, they’re right after all, I’m signing up, where’s my local BNP office?" you are seriously misguided and presume that the audience of this picture is on a instant saline drip of advertising osmosis. Give your audience some credit Felix! Let them make up their own minds, I'm sure they are more than capable.
Anyway Felix, i hope your fully recovered now from this harrowing pictorial experience and you can move onto more pertinent issues, like who to book in for the summer ball.
But your article did leave me wondering if the pillars of the photojournalistic and news gathering world, picture agencies like Magnum, VII, AgenceVu, Reuters, Getty and the AP get caught up in this pedantic moral quagmire when their important corporate clients look through their archives from various civil rights movements, Nazi Germany, Ku Klux Klan’s, genocides, apartheid and 80 years of Communism? My crikey, they must have a hard time trying to buy a photo from a NON-right wing, commie loving, white supremacist, nationalist supporting agency.
Some advice from a regular reader of this blog, stop pontificating about pansies and give the audience some credit. I would hope that those needing moral and political guidance would seek it far away from this awful article written from the blogo nether worlds. www.ivorprickett.co.uk would be a good as a place to start than any.
I really look forward to reading viewers responses.
Take care now.

The Students' Union has been informed by the University, that thankfully no one has been hurt, and it appears that the students all got home safely.
