Course Representatives

Course Representatives (or course reps. for short) are your most direct voice back to the University. Use them to take your ideas for improvements or to take your bad feelings towards anything back to the Students' Union and then the University. Course Reps. are invited to attend the Students' Council (your reps. should attend - make sure they do by checking the published minutes of the Students' Council - they are leeting you down if they don't).

At the Students' Council they can raise any issues or ideas regarding the educational aspects of the course or more physical issues such as the heat of the classrooms or the glare through the windows. Don't think these issues will fall on deaf ears either. The University's Director of Learning & Informational Services (library, IT etc.), Director of Estates (buildings, accommodation, security, catering) and the four Associate Deans for Learning & Teaching (one for each academic school) attend Students' Council and can take on board direct feedback from your reps. as well as giving answers to some questions. Issues from Students' Council that can't be quickly resolved will go on to the Students' Union Executive Board to pass policy on whether it be campaigning for new chairs in the library or food after 8pm on campus.
